JAMIE

An orphan from birth, Jamie was adopted by Uncle Chin when
she was still an infant. Under his watchful eye, she grew
up in "Before Town," the notorious underbelly of Los Angeles.
Recently, Jamie celebrated her sixteenth birthday, but since
she doesn't know the date of her real birthday, she uses a
date the orphanage gave her---much to her annoyance. When
she's not sleeping through biology class at Clinton High School,
she hangs out with her best friends Purple and Angel. Though
they're all the same age, Jamie considers herself the most
mature and stable of the group.
After school, Jamie works for Uncle Chin, making deliveries
for his Hyper Chinese Food Express. Like a lot of teenagers
her age, Jamie has her own apartment. It's situated near Uncle
Chin's restaurant, so her foster father can keep an eye on
her.
When she's not at school, at work, or partying with her friends,
Jamie likes to play basketball, ride her hoverboard, or watch
the "Kosmic Kat" TV show.
Recently, Jamie's life took a strange, nightmarish turn. She
discovered that she is heir to an unimaginable mystic power
and that she's been targeted for death by a race of savage
interdimensional invaders known as the Ma'Shiva.
MAJOR HANG-UP: For a long time, Jamie felt that she was different.
Knowing the reason why hasn't made her life any easier. Despite
the revelations about her special nature, Jamie is determined
to be as "normal" as possible.

JAMIE'S
FRIENDS
411:
"Ziggy" (real name John Zigmato), Age 16, 5' 11". Zig and
Jamie have been buddies since junior high school. Recently,
Ziggy became infatuated with Jamie and, after a great deal
of drama, he finally asked her out on a date.
Angel Love, Age 16, 5' 6". Angel is one of Jamie's first friends.
Though good-natured, she has always been something of a "troublemaker."
For years, Angel's battled addiction and, though she's promised
Jamie she'd clean up her act, she continues to struggle with
her dependency.
Purple Chang, Age 16, 5' 5". Purple is the niece of Uncle
Chin (Chin's brother's daughter.) Jamie and Purple met as
toddlers when Uncle Chin adopted Jamie and made her part of
his family. Though she is extremely intelligent, Purple is
naive. Jamie, with her superior street savvy, keeps a close
eye on her cousin so that no harm comes to her.
Chin Chang (a.k.a. "Uncle Chin"), Age 46, 6' 4". Sixteen years
ago, Chin and his wife adopted an infant child and named her
Jamie. Despite his sometimes overbearing nature, Chin and
Jamie have a close relationship. To date, she hasn't told
him about her encounter with the Ma'Shiva and the revelation
about her special powers. |
DIAMOND
DIAZ Age 25. 5' 11"

At 17, Diamond's parents were killed when a large environmental
catastrophe destroyed Mexico. Hoping to attain a better life
for her siblings and herself, Diamond bought secret passage
to the United States on a plane operated by the infamous criminal
"El Uno." During the trip, her younger brother and sister
were killed by El Uno's men, so Diamond declared a one-woman
war against the crime lord. During a firefight at El Uno's
compound, Diamond was caught in a terrible explosion. When
she awoke, her right arm was missing and she had been somehow
transported to the interdimensional gateway known as the Junction.
Rescued by Commander Joe Tripoli, Diamond was given a cybernetic
replacement for her arm and nursed back to health. While serving
as a member of the Red Flag Troopers, Diamond volunteered
to return to Earth and become one of Jamie's protectors.
MAJOR HANG-UP: Diamond feels a tremendous amount of guilt
about the death of her younger brother and sister. She is
haunted by their memories and has immersed herself in the
Ma'Shiva war to escape her pain. |

LUCIUS
EGO Age Unknown. 6' 4"

Dragon prince of the world of Ondala, Lucius was born the
first son of the Royal Family, his father being the Ondalan
King and his mother a human from the planet Earth. Lucius
was destined to inherit the throne, but a group of ambitious
senators assassinated Lucius' parents and framed him for their
murder. Lucius was banished to the badlands, a hostile region
of his world, and left to die. Lucius eventually escaped Ondala
and acquired technology that enabled him to travel interdimensionally.
While visiting Earth during the middle-ages, he abandoned
his Ondalan name for the human name "Lucius Ego." Later, Lucius
joined forces with the Li'vians and worked with Diamond Diaz
when they went in search of a mysterious object known as the
Catseye. Recently, Lucius was arrested by the Li'vians for
reasons known only to Queen Xandra and a select few. He was
freed after he agreed to journey to Earth and serve as one
of Jamie's protectors.
MAJOR HANG-UP: Because he is a human-Ondalan hybrid, Lucius
is one of the most unique creatures in the universe, a fact
he's quick to point out. |
TOMMY
LONE Age 20. 6'
411:
Grandson of legendary Shaolin monk Chow Lone, Tommy was orphaned
at a young age. His grandfather returned from the Junction
to raise Tommy and began teaching the boy the ways of the
Shaolin Ch'uan Fa (the way of the Shaolin fist). Impulsive
and overly confident, Tommy tested his grandfather's patience
often when he was growing up. Though he mastered kung fu and
many of the Shaolin principles, Tommy's fascination with modern
technology kept him from completely embracing the old ways.
With his grandfather's death at the hands of the Soul Crusher,
Tommy has realized he must become more responsible if Jamie
is to survive.
MAJOR HANG-UP: Tommy is constantly torn between his youthful
impulses and the coolheaded doctrines of his Shaolin training.

ORIS
OGDEN Age Unknown. 6' 5"

God-Emperor of the Ma'Shiva race, Oris is the progeny of the
Dark God Ogden. Oris's mother was a Shiva'tu, one of a race
of savage warriors from the world of Shiva. After Oris's birth,
other Dark Gods mated with the Shiva'tu and the Ma'Shiva race
was born ("Ma" meaning dark and "Shiva" meaning warrior.)
Ogden grew up among the Dark Gods, studying their mystic arts
and perfecting his body and intellect. When he grew to adulthood,
he used his powers to secretly destroy his father and the
other Dark Gods. Following the bloody insurrection, Ogden
declared himself God-Emperor of the Ma'Shiva people and began
conquering the different worlds and dimensions. After the
Rift Wave accident, Ma'Shiva was merged with the alien world
of Li'via. It was during this time that Ogden met and fell
in love with the Li'vian monarch Queen Xandra. Despite his
feelings for the Queen, Ogden set about to conquer the Li'vians
and gain control of their dimensional transporter. Recently,
as Xandra's powers faded, Ogden finally toppled the Li'vian
citadel and focused his attention on the destruction of Xandra's
successor, the Earth girl Jamie.
MAJOR HANG-UP:
Because of his deep love for Xandra, Ogden feels conflicted
about the war against the Li'vians. Despite his ambivalence,
Ogden is determined to kill Jamie, for he believes her death
will eliminate a great obstacle for Ma'Shiva and also save
Xandra's life. |
THE
MA'SHIVA

After the birth of Oris Ogden, other Dark Gods mated with
the Shiva'tu and the Ma'Shiva race was born ("Ma" meaning
Dark and "Shiva" meaning Warrior.) Fearsome and powerful,
the Ma'Shiva are highly aggressive warriors.

Skilled in sorcery and combat, the Ma'Shiva are determined
to conquer the universe. |

SOUL

The Soul Crusher was created by the Dark Gods to act as their
servant. He sustains his malevolent form by absorbing the
souls of living beings. Recently, at Ogden's command, the
Soul Crusher returned to Earth and clashed with his old enemy
Master Chow Lone. Chow sacrificed his life and seemingly brought
about the end of the Soul Crusher's existence.
MAJOR HANG-UP:
His long life span has left the Soul Crusher with a feeling
of near invulnerability--a feeling Chow Lone exploited in
their ultimate battle. |
QUEEN
XANDRA Age Unknown. 5' 11"

Xandra is the monarch of the Li'vian people and a being of
extraordinary power. Xandra reigned in Li'via during a time
of great peace and prosperity. With war and poverty a distant
memory, the Li'vians had spent a thousand years focusing on
the advancements of art and science. Following the Ma'Shiva
invasion and the detonation of the Rift Wave device, Li'via
was flung together with Ma'Shiva and the patchwork region
known as the Junction was born. Using her mystical powers,
Xandra managed to defend her citadel from the Ma'Shiva army
and keep them from taking possession of the Li'vian dimensional
technology. Eventually, the reigning Li'vian monarch must
transfer her powers to a successor. When this transfer is
complete, the outgoing Queen dies and a new dynasty is born.
Recently, Jamie was revealed to be Xandra's successor and
began to inherit the Queen's powers.
MAJOR HANG-UP:
Xandra's past relationships with both Ogden and Tripoli are
somewhat mysterious and she is troubled by a dark secret.

LI'VIANS

For over a thousand years, the Li'vians enjoyed a near-utopian
civilization. But, while conducting an experiment with interdimensional
technology, a Li'vian scientist accidentally opened a gateway
to another dimension. Soon, the Ma'Shiva, ruthless conquerors
from this other dimension, ignited an interdimensional war
by invading Li'via. The Li'vian scientists tried to seal the
dimensional fissure by detonating a device known as the Rift
Wave, but it malfunctioned and millions of dimensions were
instantly reborn. As a result, Ma'Shiva and Li'via were flung
together and now occupy a dimensionally unstable region of
space/time known as the Junction.
MAJOR HANG-UP:
Desperate to undue the damage they have caused, the Li'vian
scientists still attempt to escape the Junction and return
their world to its proper place in space and time. |
JOE
TRIPOLI and THE RED FLAG TROOPERS
Age 35. 6' 3"

A Texas Ranger from the 1800's, Tripoli, along with his men,
were caught in a violent storm and sucked into the dimensional
patchwork region known as the Junction. Following their arrival,
Tripoli made contact with the Li'vians and learned about the
Rift Wave accident and the Li'vian war with the Ma'Shiva.
Realizing Earth and all reality was hanging in the balance,
Tripoli pledged his loyalty to Queen Xandra and raised an
army to fight the Ma'Shiva invaders. Known as the Red Flag
Troopers, this legion of warriors consists of creatures from
a hundred worlds who became trapped in the Junction and sympathized
with the Li'vians' cause. The Troopers now number in the thousands
with several divisions, including a squadron of World War
II British flyers. They are committed to defeating the Ma'Shiva
and protecting Queen Xandra until her successor comes to power.
A few years ago, Tripoli discovered a young girl named Diamond
Diaz shortly after she arrived in the Junction. He nursed
her back to health and trained her as a Red Flag Trooper and,
as a result, the two have developed a father/daughter relationship.
MAJOR HANG-UP:
Tripoli has deep feelings for Queen Xandra and struggles with
the notion that there's nothing he can do to prevent her death
when her powers transfer to Jamie. |

CHOW
LONE Age Unknown (deceased). 5' 4".

Following the Rift Wave accident the original Shaolin Temple
was transported to the Junction. Chow Lone, then a boy, and
the Shaolin pledged their loyalty to Queen Xandra and waged
war against the Ma'Shiva. Later, Chow confronted the Soul
Crusher, a malevolent entity. As a result of their battle,
the two warriors became bitter rivals. Years later, Chow's
only son was mysteriously killed during another conflict with
the Soul Crusher. Following his son's death, Chow assumed
responsibility for his young grandson Tommy. Eventually, Chow
and the four-year-old Tommy returned to earth with Xandra's
infant daughter Jamie. In Los Angeles, he created a new Shaolin
Monastery and guarded Xandra's successor from a discreet distance.
Sixteen years later, after the Ma'Shiva located Jamie and
moved against her, Chow sacrificed his life in a final bid
to destroy his life long enemy the Soul Crusher. |
